No body listen to my story

Hi is M3 Dom here. Today let’s talk about my current working airline. Why working here and Why not.
Recently we had changed new uniform, what do you think? Hmmm…
The old one was better OR the current one?

Old uniform
New uniform

Some people they would join the airline is because of their uniform ,are you one of them too? Its ok,there’s no right or wrong with it as long as you like it. I still remember when I went for interview I asked some of the candidates around me why they choose this airline, their answer is… “ Owhh, this is the only airline which allow crew member to put on hijab (is a veil that covers the head and chest, which is particularly worn by a Muslim woman). My dream is to become a flight attendant and I’m a Muslim so I’m so happy they are hiring Malaysian again after many years.” See,an airline’s uniform could makes people dream comes true.So there’s not thing wrong by choosing an airline by the uniform design.
When I had been hired I was told to be based in Kuala Lumpur, but last month had announced about me? Let me tell you the reasons of making me to stay.

Long night stop. Comparing to others airlines this airlines having more hours layover. Mean you have more time to go out during layover. For example, flying to New York is 13 hours. Here I got minimum layover 33hrs but my friend from other airlines with similar flying time but layover for 26hrs only. Some other destinations could up to 50hrs or more.

Hotel. For internationals layover company providing good location (normally in city center) 4 or 5 stars hotels.

Work load. We don’t have many services like others 5 stars airline. For me,its an easy job.

Tax Free. One of the biggest benefit. I enjoy tax free salary and the pay is similar with 5 stars airlines.

Days Off. The only airline giving 5-6 days off consecutive every month. If I make some swapping I could even get more. I did combined two months of days off and after did some swapping I got 17 days off.

Annual Leave.Every year we got 30 days annual leaves without separating. So you can enjoy one month leave with pay.

Accommodation and transportation are provided by company. It helps me to save a lot of money.
Of course, there’s some thing good and also there’s bad too.
Jeddah-Kula Lumpur flight is always full load. If you are not with the luck, sorry you have to be in standby for the flight. So going home is not an easy task. It could make you disappointed any time.
Passengers profile and background here is the biggest challenges I have to face. There’s a culture male and female beyond of family member are not allow to sit together. Always headache during boarding. And most of the local passengers they couldn’t read their seat number correctly. It’s a hard time for crew members.

Some thing you might not know~
Weather :
Maybe you will only know that Middle East  is only HOT HOT HOT for whole year. But actually there’s two seasons here, winter and summer. From March to October is summer,September to February is winter. Summer could up to 45 degree centigrade, that’s really crazy. I will just stay at home and blog, like now =D Lollll During winter its great. Average temperature is around 20 degree centigrade everyday and some places like Riyadh will cold like London. I’m serious.

Any topic you wish me to write about you are always welcome.

New York

Again it’s a late post about my New York trip. I use the word “Trip” because I never take my operation flight as a work. I try my best to enjoy every single flights and destinations even it’s a short layover. Last year November I got my D Visa (Crew U.S visa).Feel blest when I got my U.S visa as a crew who just flying for 7 months that time in my current company.(normally need to fly above 1 year) I got my first U.S flight on December 2013,operating to New York(JFK). Of course I’m so excited =D

13hours flight, such a looooong flight from Jeddah. First of all I feel appreciate and at the same time I’m quite nervous. LoL~ U.S flight we are having different kind of services from other flights and I’m taking Business class galley position. Some thing new for me. Luckily I’ve a very helpful and kind main galley crew colleague. Feel appreciate because I learned a lot. Thanks to one of the lazy crew member too because of her working efficiency ,I gotto do her part too. But it’s OK,I learned.

After arrived, it was 1300 local time in NY,8 hours behind Jeddah time, JETLAG @_@ Hotel’s far away from the airport. After arrived to the hotel I changed immediately and went out alone. In the hotel I met a very kind driver who drove me to the train station. He gave me a lot of useful information about how to take the local and time available to pick me up from the same station.
#1 ,2   Prepare myself and GO! I'm going to see real city. ^_^

U.S’s train service was not that convenient as Europe. Anyway I still manage to get to my desire destination, New York Time Square. The city was awesome full with colorful lights billboards. I keep on walking non stop because the weather was freezing.
#2  At the top attraction point of NYC.

Overcome the pass 9 Months

Well,it has been 9 months here in Jeddah. I have already get used to every things here, the people, the cultures, even their praying time “event” which is no shops are allow to open during that period,no matter is shopping malls or streets shops or market. Five times per day(sigh). No choice (=_=) So normally what we will do during this period as a none Muslim like ME? For example I’m going to shopping mall,I’ll make sure I reach to the mall at 5pm because 12pm to 5pm is close for their prayer and rest. You must be asking why they take so long time? The answer is “I don’t know!” You can say they might be lazy or concert bout rest time. Up to you. But shopping mall business time until midnight 12.
9 months here, unbelievable! I’m surviving here for 9 months without cinema, alcohol, karaoke or any other entertainments. Don’t get me wrong,I’m not complaining but it’s the real life here. Somehow it’s another way of saving money =p. It’s a good idea right.
Things that I ignore here to make my life easier. First, IGORE impolite and rude people. Why let these kind of people destroy your day and make yourself up set.Right? Hahahahaha… I know I’m so bad. Ok,let’s put this topic aside. What I can tell is different culture different lifestyle. There’s a Malaysian passengers told me “Tak keluar tak tau.” I’m totally agreed with that. After experienced the life here and explore to different countries, I’m glad to be Malaysian honestly. I’m well educated, I speak four languages(advantage) and well carry of myself =) So much of appreciate.

Recently my previous readers are here now with me in same company. They recognize me,and  happy that I’m willing to reply their questions before. It’s really make me happy =) And its also a motivation for me to continue blogging. Some of the girls they asked my advices and opinions and they are in flying training now. Although I didn’t see them and meet them before but I’m so happy to see them achieving their dream.

Fuxk Up Day

First of all sorry to boys and girls who have been reading or following me.Today my post gonna be a little bit vulgar. But I gotto share this to all my fellows friends here.
Today I was getting R1 position (job related : serving business class and cockpit crews)For the passed 6 months this position was rarely come to me. Well, although I’m not really familiar with this position but I’m going to give myself a learning opportunity. So before the flight I had informed the purser that this is only my first time serving in business class(officially),and he did asked how long was I’m flying hre,so that he knows how much skills and knowledge that I have. OKie,after seat belt off. I was asked to do this and prepare that and bla bla bla. Was full load in business class,I almost fainted with one demanding passenger while serving the rest at the same time. This second Arabic coffee, after 5 minutes apple juice with one ice cube another 1 minute he wants hot green tea. “HELLO~ You think you are the only one in business class meh?”But what can I do? Still have to serve him with whatever he wants mah~ Some more with a smile on my face. (Actually inside me was mumbling…How many more cups do you want?) Finally, after feeding all my passengers and collected the trays, here comes my time to take a deep breath and relax. I thought. Hmmm… You too?
NO! The story has just begun.

Two of my pretty crews came to my galley and took some of their favorite breakfast. One of them ask my permission for a bottle of fresh juice. I checked there’s extra two more in my chart so of course why not? After they left the purser came to me and asked me in sarcastic way “Why you let her bring the whole bottle of fresh juice to the back?” I explained there’s two more extra juices so I allowed her to bring it to the aft galley and share with the rest of the crew members. He started to be unhappy with me and keep on talking to me in very bad way. Fine. I replied him in a straight forward way too. “If you doesn’t allow the crew to have the bottle of juice why not you just let her know and tell her the reason. You were here at that time.” He said “I want to see what you will do.” Harr… ??? Are you challenging me? I cant fight back,he’s purser. I can only say sorry  and feel grievance with doing not thing wrong. At that moment my tears was rolling in my eyes.

I want to leave this air craft as soon as possible and I don’t want to see him any more. Luckily that was only 2 short sectors. Alright, this incident CASE CLOSE.
I went back to flight operation sign off my duty and went to second floor female crew lounge and settle some of my visa documents stuff. As usual I left my trolley at the corner beside the lift which all the crews did. After done every thing and came down I was WTF where’s my trolley! Somebody took it by mistake. I keep looking around and keep my eyes on every single bags passed by me. No, those are not my bag =(    Without wasting any time I went to see duty manager and he’s playing “Tai Chi” ,pushing the job to others. Asked me to see my group supervisor. Fine ,again I went to see my group supervisor,Miss F. Again and again I tell how was my trolley bag lost and suddenly I heard she said some thing that I totally unexpected. Guess what? … “That’s your fault!” WHAT!? How come its my fault? I was stunned with that UNEXPECTED  and cruel replied. Have you ever think of my feeling of losing my trolley bag with all my belongings inside. I’m sure she did not! Her cool and heatless facial expression telling you that she don’t care at all. After explaining why that’s my fault she played “Tai Chi” again (wondering is this the company style?) She asked me to look for another supervisor .Sigh. Third person I met,Miss O. Again again and again I tell how I lost my trolley bag’s history. Finally I felt somebody is doing some thing for me. Write report, yes, that’s all.

Miracle happened…

I was so depressed and up set, walking down from the stairs with the heavy steps. When I reached the end of the stair I saw a crew walked pass in front of me and I was shocked! Screaming from the heart “Stop! That’s my trolley bag my dear!” The crew looked back and surprised with my voice. She didn’t realize that wasn’t her trolley bag at all. She apologize and I had accepted. And the best part is she was the random crew sitting beside me  and chit chat with early in the morning before our flight. Feel blessed =)
